Subject: MCC Self-Study Update
Dear All,
As many of you are aware, MCC is engaged in a self study in preparation for the 10-year accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association. The primary purpose of the self study is to demonstrate how the college is meeting the HLC accreditation criteria. Another purpose is to document our strengths and examine possible challenges so that we might better prepare for the future.
Nearly 90 committee members have been working since last spring toward these goals. Their work has generated many examples of evidence that now need to be collected for inclusion in our self-study report. For example, documents, reports, and statistics will be compiled. A number of surveys, interviews, focus groups, and strategic conversations are also planned. These data collection activities will begin immediately and continue for several months. Analysis of the findings will occur in the spring and the report will be written and submitted to the HLC in Fall 2004.
Please take advantage of every opportunity to participate in these activities. Your contribution to this process is important.
