Welcome:

Since its inception in 1986, the American Indian Center (AIC) at Mesa Community College was created to serve American Indian students from across the country with a variety of services.

These services assist American Indian students transition into the college culture and develop an understanding of their academic abilities and interests.

The primary mission of AIC is to provide culturally responsive academic support services that ensure the success of the student, as well, as embrace and affirm their culture and identities. In addition, AIC offers additional services specific to the cultural needs of the American Indian student, by encouraging a strong on going working relationship with tribal and other groups.

AIC helps to minimize the cultural distance associated with transition when a student leaves their home area.
