The Hoop of Learning — is designed specifically for Native American high school students in the Tempe and Mesa area. These high school students are given the opportunity to earn college and high school credit concurrently all while participating in a program whose goal is to increase academic
achievements and prepare students for successful transition into a post secondary setting.
This Program is only one of six bridge programs within Maricopa Community College District that offers Native American high school students the opportunity to begin their career journey while in high school.
As a participant, students are provided with a scholarship to enroll in one or more
college courses during the fall and spring semester and in one five-week summer program. Each semester student may earn up to 3 credits and in a year may earn a total of 9-12 credits; bringing the student closer to earning a college degree. Each participant must remain in good standing in college and in high school courses. If interested, contact the staff of the Hoop of Learning Program.
