Whether you are learning about the value of internships, trying to find an internship, or applying to receive college credit for your internship experience, Career Services is here to help!

We can help with your internship search by providing potential internship sites for you to research, and referring you to internship opportunities posted on the Maricopa Career Network. We also help students polish their resumes while learning interview etiquette.

MCC Career Services is always looking for ways to expand opportunities for our students by doing outreach within the business community. Each year, the number of internship sites available to our students continues to grow. If you are an employer interested in becoming an internship site, we want to hear from you!

What Every College Student Should Know:

A recent article in the Los Angeles Times reported "For college students hoping to find a job after graduation, completing an internship is virtually becoming a prerequisite."

According to a nationwide survey, seventy-seven percent of graduating seniors will have completed at least one internship before finishing college. Over sixty percent will have completed two or more internships!

Vault Incorporated, a New York-based provider of career information and research, surveyed 30 of the nation's top 50 colleges and universities. Here are some highlights from the survey's findings:

Upon graduation, students with pre-professional intern experience secure jobs at roughly twice the rate of those without internship experience.

The percentage of college graduates with internship experience, at the companies hiring them, more than doubled since 1993. Graduate school admission committees look for evidence of practical experience before admitting students. According to a recent survey, 91% of those admitted to law school and 94% of those admitted to graduate business (MBA) programs had internship experience. (Source: Los Angeles Times)
