To access the
class and start the course, you must first create a MCC email account. If
you want, click on this link to Create
a MCC Email Account. Otherwise, follow the instructions for this as listed
in this document.
Note: Before you send your message, be sure you are using your MCC email account. Based on the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) that protects student privacy -- grades and personal information can only be released to the student; therefore, you must use your personal MCC email account when communicating with online correspondence to assure information being released is going directly to you.
CREATING A MCC EMAIL ACCOUNT
If you are registered for an online course, you cannot access the course without first creating a MCC Email account. You will use your username and password to log into the course. However, either way, I require both my online and classroom students to have a MCC account.
1. If you are not already at the MCC Home Page, go to www.mc.maricopa.edu.
2. Click on Create An Account (below the login box).
3. Enter in the information as displayed on the screen.
4. When entering your username, keep in mind the following:
a. The name will be viewed by people in a school setting—Keep it simple and clean.
b. It should be between 4-8 characters.
c. Letters should be in lowercase.
5. When creating a password:
a. Keep it simple.
b. It should be between 6-8 characters.
c. Letters should be in lowercase.
If you encounter difficulties, someone else could have the same username that you have given (it actually happens quite often). Try giving another name. When all else fails, call the MCC Help Desk number that is displayed on the bottom of the Create Account screen.
Allow at least 30-40 minutes time before trying to access your MCC email account. WRITE DOWN YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD EXACTLY AS YOU TYPED IT!
ACCESSING YOUR
MCC EMAIL ACCOUNT
Once your account is created you have access to the MCC portal which lists all of your classes and other helpful links in addition to accessing your email account. Your email account should continue be active while you are enrolled at MCC.
1. If you are not already at the MCC Home Page, go to www.mc.maricopa.edu.
2. Log in at the MCC portal using your username and password created.
3. Click on the MyMail tab.
4. Enter you username and password again. Your inbox should appear.
I periodically send emails to the class using your MCC
account. Make sure you check it frequently!
PART 3:
You are now ready to access the class. Read the instructions below.
LOGGING INTO CLASS USING WEBCT
Once you have created your email account, you can begin class. We are using a course management tool called WebCT. This will hold all of the class content, tests, homework, instructions, etc.
To access WebCT:
Option
1:
1.
Go to the WebCT site by typing the address: http://webct.mc.maricopa.edu (remember
no www).
2. Log in using your MCC username and password. You created these when you created your MCC email account.
3. A list of courses that are available to you appear.
4. Pick the class by clicking on it.
5. You are now into your class and ready to begin.
Option
2:
1.

2. Go to and click WebCT
3. Type your username and password.
4. Pick the class by clicking on it.
5. You are now into your class and ready to begin.
Option 3:
If you are logged
in to the MCC site, you can also use the following method:
1. Click on MyMCC.
2. Click on MyClasses.
3. Click on the WebCT link.
5. The course appears.
