TEXTBOOK Required: Natural Hazards:
Earth’s Processes as Hazards, Disasters, and Catastrophes, Keller, E.A., and
Blodgett, R.H., 2006.
GRADE The
final grades are based out of 450 points and will be assigned using the
following grade scale: A=90% or above
B=89.5-80%, C=79.5-70%, D=69.5-60%, F=59.5% or below. The point scheme may change, however, the percentages for each area will not vary
more than a few percent. There will be no curve on exams or the final class
grade.

Exams

Exams
are mostly multiple choice, with lesser amounts of
short answer questions, sketches, and short essay.
·
There
are no makeup exams.
Homework
·
All
assignments (in and out of class) will be announced throughout the semester.
·
Assignments
turned in during or after class starts is considered late and will be marked
off 10% on the first day due, 20% off for the second day, and will not be
accepted after day 2. No exceptions.
Final Exam
·
The final exam is comprehensive and must
be taken at the scheduled time.
·
Use your exams, assignments, and lecture
notes to study.
