Cruising along the horizon, Herricane streaked around the myriads of towering skyscrapers of Steel Canyon. In an unusual mood to go out on a patrol, she flew around nearly carefree. The streets below were fairly quiet, just the usual ruffians down below causing problems. But each time Herri looked closer she saw one of the thousands of up and coming new heroes trying to prove themselves worthy of being a hero in a city of heroes. Everything seemingly taken care of, Herri figured she'd have the night to herself. Sure she could help out the new tykes in laying the justice to the criminals around town, but they appeared to have everything under control. Herri knew Heri would help each and every hero she saw, and Lady wouldn't approve of her lackadaisical manner towards crime, but she didn't care much. Crime was being stopped without her help being needed, so why check it out? In a grand manner, Herri swooshed around the curve of a tall building and sped up, heading towards the Green Line. Herracane should have that area covered; she went to investigate some Tsoo activity earlier in the day. But Herri wanted to head that way anyway, it's give her a reasons to stop in Pocket D and chill for a few hours. Smoke billowing into the air and the crackle of flames doused Herri's dream of an almost soon to be party. Looking down the skyline she saw a familiar sight, a peach orange building that the Hellions frequently target to burn. One that the heroes watching over the area have repeatedly stopped. "Gotta give them credit for being persistent, but they're stupid as hell too" Herri thought to herself as she bulleted to it. Reaching it within seconds, Herri descended down to put a stop to their arson attempt once again. As she neared the building, Herri sensed something bad. The fire was burning as usual, but not a trace of any Hellions running around to fuel the fire. "Maybe they're gotten so stupidly desperate to torch it they went inside.." Herri pondered. "Could they really have?" she asked out loud, unsure of what was going on.
"They tried, but failed" said a voice from just inside the doorway. The voice startled Herri but shook her even more when it revealed itself. Wherrlwynd stepped outside, gripping two unconscious Hellion gang members by their necks. She tossed them to the ground like lifeless dolls. "So you burned up the building. Congrats Sis, you ready for me to sock you into next month?" Herri hunched, ready to run at Wherrlwynd. "Whatever Emily, you can try to do anything to me after I knock yer block off." Angela growled. "You and what army, Angela?" Herri laughed. "You've never been able to take me alone, much less with company." Herri smiled and heard the familiar warble of a force field near them both. "So.. ya think you can.. GAHHHH.. " As the force field neared Herri felt it slam into her and force her backwards. Regaining her balance she darted back towards Wherrlwynd and the force field bubble. Herri yelled out, "Hey Herra, what's the.." Herri went silent as she saw the person surrounded by the spherical force field. Her sister was devilishly grinning, while the evil Wherrlwind floated, in her dreaded red armor, and her army of robots behind her. Wherrlwynd simply gloated, "You were saying something bout an army, Em?" Fuming, Herricane spit out, "Oh shut up, you tramp!" Wherrlwynd bellowed, "Is that all you can come back with Sis? So weak, like you'll be when I beat you to a pulp."
Herri knew she was overmatched but she wasn't about to go down without a fight. She wasn't gonna give in to anyone, especially these two. Bracing herself, she steeled and prepared for some pain, and then smiled and brightened as a familiar humming grew closer. Herri boomed with elation, "Oh ho!!! Now yer gonna get it you two. Ya better scatter while ya gots the chance, before Heri and I paste ya sorry selves on the pavement." Herri smacked her fists and got ready to lunge, when suddenly she was flung backwards across the street. She crashed into and through a tree, felling it down near her. Woozy, Herricane stumbled up, gathering her senses, looking around a moment to orient herself. Noticing the tree laying on the ground, anger welled up in Herri as she bolted back across the street to confront the villains that did that to her. "Aw man.. What gives?" Herri whined as she saw a familiar singularity floating nearby, and its green-haired owner not too far off. But it wasn't Heri. The purple and black jumpsuit that was similar to Heri's only confirmed that this was Heri's Praetorian double, Wherlwynd. The evil doppelganger spoke, with an evil tinge of Heri that made Herri's skin crawl. "Try and get in our way and we will bury you into dust, Herri." Herri merely growled. The three of them was gonna be some tough pickins, but she knew she couldn't let them harm the city. "Yer all talk ,Wherly, ya know. You ain't nuthin compared to Heri." Wherlwynd continued, "Heri is weak, and so are you. " Ominously she raised her hand and the singularity began to move closer. Herri gritted her teeth and got ready for a very tough fight ahead. When the force didn't come she blinked in surprise then hooted out when another singularity zip into view to repel the first. Herri waved her fist in the air wildly as Heri floated in right behind it. "Wherlwynd!" Heri yelped, visibly startled. She became more frightened as she saw the 2 other Wherls gathered. Herri was still standing her ground, glaring at the 3 evil duplicates with bloodlust and hatred. Heri's fright subsided into anger as well, towards the Wherls, for outnumbering Emily. "They ain't nuthin, Heri Beri. Let's show these two bit copycats the real thing." Descending lightly, Lady Hericane, the group's military minded tactician gracefully floated above Heri, her armor's jump jets keeping her afloat while a little device kept its targeting lasers aimed upon the Wherrlwynds. She said nothing but her narrowed eyes and solemn poker face conveyed all that needed to be known; Lady wasn't going to go down lightly, especially as the odds were now even. No sooner after Lady Heri settled in her spot a flash of bright light washed over the area. As it subsided, Herri smiled at the new arrival. Hoveringly safely in a force field bubble that Herri was expecting earlier, was Herracane. She stood ready, her power gauntlets and boots charged for action. "You've caused enough trouble today! You won't be causing any more." Herracane said boldly Last but not least, a darkened figure bounded into the group. Just a bundle of dark misty cloud, the haze subsided, revealing a half clothed woman, her fists already balled up and ready to fight. "Am I too late to spank some naughty villains?" That was Heracane, Herri's slugfest ally when their battles turned close and personal. The group assembled, Herri turned back towards the Wherlwynds, and was ready to rush them. Heri, still flying near her singularity, waved a hand to hold her back and pointed forward. While all the Heris were gathering, the Wherlwynds were doing the same. Nearly the same way that Heracane appeared from the mist of a dark cloud, her counterpart, Wherlwind appeared from out of nowhere, crouching silently on top of the yellow awning over the entrance to the building. Herri and crew were wary of this one, looking as cherubic as a hero, but merciless enough to kill anyone in cold blood. To round them out, a royal woman simply walked next to Wherrlwynd. Wearing a gold laurel in her hair, she had an aura of superiority about her than exuded her arrogance that all were inferior. "Such foolishness. No one will ever stop us from what we desire, and you will soon call me as everyone else who gets in my way, Empress Wherlwynd." Lady Hericane's eyes narrowed at that remark as she stared at her double and her contempt for one who valued those beneath her so little. Lady Heri kept her anger in check, as she knew that while her twin's conceit could be her downfall, she was not one to underestimate. Her innate ability to channel her inner power was nearly as equal to her desire to rule over all, and Lady Heri vowed to protect Earth's people from her power. "I suggest a proper "schooling" as Herricane would put it, would convince these lawbreakers to abstain from venturing to break any further laws, and "put them in their place." |
