DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING FTP SOFTWARE- FILEZILLA

Use the following steps to do this: Print this document.  Do not try to download while in WebCT.

  1. Download the FTP software.  Go to the  http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla site.  The purpose of this special software is to enable you to upload your files from your disk/drive to your website at MCC.  You will scroll down the page until you see the LATEST FILE RELEASES.  Select the first one which is the most recent version.

  1. Click on Download.

  2. Scroll until you see a pink box.  Select the 2nd option, and click on  --  FileZilla_2_2_8c_setup.exe  -- link.

  3. When asked for the mirror - select Minneapolis, MN. When selecting, do not click on the picture.  Click on the icon in the right column. Click SAVE when the dialog box opens.  As for location, save the .exe file to your desktop.

  4. Go to your desktop (or where ever you saved the setup.exe file) and double click the file icon to start the setup wizard.

  5. Read and follow the steps.  You must agree to the license.   Keep clicking next until it is installed and then click finish.

   7.    On the top/middle toolbar line, fill in the following the boxes for the following:

            Address:        homedirs.mc.maricopa.edu
Username:    type your MCC email username
Password:     type your MCC email password
            Port:                 leave blank
            Click                 QUICKCONNECT

So you don't have to type this each time you start Filezilla, you will now make this your default site:

Click File from the menu and select Copy Connection to Site Manager.

Click on the NEW FTP SITE icon and then click Rename.  Type your name.
Click the button to select Default site.
            Click SAVE & EXIT.
