WHAT FILES TO INCLUDE IN YOUR PORTFOLIO WEBSITE.

TITLE PAGE:
  • Create an eye-catching title page for your portfolio.
  • Use some of the Word formatting features you learned in this class (watermarks, word art, etc)
  • Save the file as index.html
  • Use your creativity in designing the table of contents page.

AUTOBIOGRAPHY:

Save this file as a web page. The paper should have included answers to  the following:

  • Professional goals and achievements
  • Academic goals and achievements
  • Personal goals and achievements. 
  • This document should be formatted according to the formatting guidelines.

COURSE EXPECTATIONS:

Save this file as a web page. The paper should have included answers to the following:

  • Why did you choose the class?
  • What expectations do you have about the class?
  • What computer skills do you hope to learn?
  • Your opinion on the class, i.e., the class will be easy, hard, etc. 
  • Any other pertinent information you wish to include, fears you want to overcome, etc.

WORD COMPONENT:
Select one of the following.  Save this file as a web page. When completed, add this file as a hyperlink on your title (index.html) page.

  • Submit a family newsletter using the skills learned in Word--including columns, pull out text, drop caps, etc..  Include merged labels of at least 10 family and friends; or

  • Submit a proposal using the skills learned in Word.  Minimum of 3 pages plus cover page and intro letter and merged labels for at least 10 people ; AND

  • Reflection letter that you submitted after learning Word.  Save this file as a web page. Please correct any grammar, formatting and spelling errors prior to turning in.

EXCEL COMPONENT:
Select one of the following. Save this file as a web page. When completed, add this file as a hyperlink on your title (index.html) page.
  • A linked worksheet that includes at least two worksheets that include a family or business budget and worksheet that includes loan payment calculator, interest rate schedule, and amortization schedule AND

  • Reflection letter that you submitted after learning Excel.  Save this file as a web page. Please correct any grammar, formatting and spelling errors prior to turning in.

ACCESS COMPONENT:
When completed, add this file as a hyperlink on your title (index.html) page.

  • Create a database with at least two linking tables using at least 10 friends or family members (you could use this as your data source for the Word component). 

  • Create a customized report

  • Create a customized form with subforms AND

  • Reflection letter that you submitted after learning Access.  Save this file as a web page. Please correct any grammar, formatting and spelling errors prior to turning in.

REFLECTION PAPER: Save the file as a web page. When completed, add this file as a hyperlink on your title (index.html) page.

Prepare a 1-2 page typed paper reflecting on the overall learning components of the class.  Include the following:

  • Compare and contrast to your original comments about the expectations that were listed in the initial outcomes letter. 
  • Provide a reflection on what you like the best about the course, the least, what should be changed
  • How you will use these computer skills learned in the future
  • Major challenges faced and skills learned.
  • Any other constructive comments that you would like to share.
