CIS 108: Electronic Portfolio Development
COURSE OVERVIEW

What is an electronic portfolio? It is a collection of structured web pages, based on templates, that you can easily build and maintain without extensive web development experience.

What is the purpose of a portfolio?  It is a method to document ongoing learning and professional development.

What will I do in this course? You will compile, reflect on, and select prior learning experiences and artifacts. Then, you will design, produce, and publish an online portfolio that documents prior learning (in school or on the job). Finally, you will learn techniques for presenting the electronic portfolio for evaluation.  Your final project will be published on the World Wide Web.

Who will see my electronic portfolio? Your classmates, your instructor, and whomever else you decide, including future employers, future college representatives, friends, and family members.

This course is an introduction to e-portfolios for anyone interested in showcasing their accomplishments. Learn about and apply the essential aspects of demonstrating growth over time, documenting ongoing learning and professional development, assessment, and achievements of standards or goals.
