Students are STRONGLY RECOMMENDED to visit the following web site to learn more about how to be a successful student learner at Mesa Community College.  This web site, Distance Learning Information, will guide you through everything you need to know before you begin your online courses.  You may also want to read Starting Your Internet Class.

The instructions for this class are geared towards Windows-based computers only.  Instructions for MAC computers will NOT be provided.

Basic knowledge of the following skills is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED:

  • The basic usage of the computer using windows-based software
  • Familiarity with Windows 98 or higher version and a text editor program such as Notepad.
  • Having access to a browser such as Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer
  • Having access to the Internet using an Internet Service Provider
  • Email Account - Students are required to subscribe to MCC Student Mail Account. In addition, students may also have one additional email from other systems such as Hotmail, Yahoo, or from the work place.
  • The ability to type at least 40 wpm is strongly recommended
