Computers and the Internet are becoming an
integral part of our everyday life. We use them at home and in business. This
course is an introduction to Internet web publishing, using Dreamweaver MX as
your web editor. It includes an overview of
the Internet, the web and HTML, strategies for planning and designing a
successful web site, and using Dreamweaver MX to create web sites. Dreamweaver
topics include working with text; understanding Cascading Style Sheets and
external style sheets; adding graphics and tables; and using navigation bars,
frames, layers and prewritten behaviors. You will
receive hands-on experience with the Internet, the World Wide Web, HTML, and
Dreamweaver MX. The textbook includes a 30 day trial of Dreamweaver MX.

or permission of instructor. Knowledge of Windows 98+, the Internet, and HTML is
strongly recommended. Ability to type at least 30
wpm is helpful.

Purchase/arrange access to Dreamweaver MX (30 day trial CD is
included with textbook, but course is 8 weeks in duration -- access to
software available via MCC computer lab with Student ID)

Create
and use an MCC mail account.

Upload
final project to live web site (students do have limited access to space
on MCC's server)

Read lecture notes from
your instructor for instructions on how to complete each assignment.

Follow the Assignment
Checklist for each lesson/tutorial and perform
hands-on applications (Internet, World Wide Web, HTML, Dreamweaver MX).

Download
student data files.

Zip files
using (WinZip 8.0)

Participate in online discussions and group projects.

Complete
Online Quizzes.

Use two
web tools (WebCT and Dreamweaver MX) - Note: Instructions
will be provided.
Students will
