SOC 101

Introduction to Sociology

Fundamental concepts of social organization, culture, socialization, social institutions and social change. Prerequisites: None.

ONE PLANET, ONE PEOPLE………………..PLEASE!!!

What we will study:

In this course, we will develop critical thinking skills as we examine and understand society, social change, and social problems. Intro. to Sociology is not simply a bunch of facts or list of definitions. We will look at the world differently - through a "sociological perspective." Examples of topics to discussed include inequality, culture, race, ethnicity, gender, deviance, power, religion, social change, family, etc.

Some documents on this website are in Adobe acrobat .pdf format. To print Adobe .pdf files you will need the Adobe acrobat reader which is a free plugin available from the MCC helpdesk website.
