Vacation Journal Entry

It seems as though those of us who work or attend school all year long look forward to vacations with great enthusiasm and relief that we will be able to "get away from it all." Hopefully, our vacation will be a wonderful, relaxing, memorable one that we will remember with great fondness. However, while all vacations are memorable, not all are necessarily filled with good times. In this journal entry, you need to write about a memorable vacation you have had that has left you with a lasting impression, good or bad.

The following is a sample journal entry on a memorable vacation.

Vacation to Canada

When I was seven years old, my mother and father decide to take a trip up the West Coast to Canada. So they bought a brand new eight passenger van and a pop up trailer and headed off up the west coast. We would catch some of the western states on the way up and the others on the way back. This trip took a whole life time it seemed. I can't remember all the states, all the national parks, all the recreational sites, and all the pits stops, but I do remember some details rather well.

The first stop was, of course, California for Disneyland. Of course this would have to be the first stop for all the kids. Seven kids and two parents, wow what a van full! I don't exactly remember what was after California; I just know that California was the first stop on our month long vacation. The next thing that I can remember seeing is the sea lion den. I think that was in northern California. We didn't get to see many sea lions because it was raining rather hard that day. I can remember that we stopped in the red wood forest that I think is in Washington state. On or way to Glacier National Park, we stopped on the side of the road where some other people had stopped and were looking at some cub bears. I can remember people throwing food out of the windows feeding the bears. Of course there were the signs saying "Don't feed the bears," but people were doing it any ways. As we were watching one car feeding one of the cubs, all of a sudden one of the cubs had raised up on its hind legs and leaned its front paws on my mother's window. Good thing she had her windows rolled up. I think it scared everybody half to death.

As we got ready to leave this sight, our van would not start. Our van had a bad habit of not starting. It was a brand new van and from day one we had problems with it. We finally got it started and headed off to Glacier National Park. I never realized how massive glaciers are. It was an awesome sight and one I will never forget. We finally made it across the border to Canada. I think the best memory I had was eating the

Canadian toffee. It was so delicious. The trip home was not so memorable to me. In fact, I don't remember much about the way home except that we did stop in Disney land one more time. However, I'm sure our van broke down at least a dozen other times.

Good luck and have fun with your Vacation journal entry.
