Welcome to CIS105 Online! To begin the course read the first section of this document, Course Schedule. To ensure that the course is completed as planned, and that students are ready to take exams as scheduled, online students should follow this week-by-week schedule. Students should be sure to note the due date for each assignment. This is NOT a self-paced course, but students may work ahead.

This Course Schedule document has six columns:

• The Date column basically marks the beginning of the week, and specifies the items under Subject and Homework that should be covered or started that week.
  
  
• The Source column indicates the source of the material listed under Subject. The source will be either a Powerpoint presentation or a handout. Hyperlinks to the Powerpoint documents are under Source, hyperlinks for the handouts are under Subject, and hyperlinks to assignments are under Homework..
  
  The Powerpoint presentations are used in the traditional structure course to review reading and lab assignments. In addition, the presentations may include supplemental material which is not included in the textbook. Online students are highly encouraged to review the Powerpoint presentations. See Powerpoint Lectures for information on downloading the viewer and printing Powerpoint presentations.
  
  
• The Subject column contains the hyperlinks to the informational handouts and a brief title for the chapters covered in the Powerpoint presentations.
  
  
• The Homework column lists the specific homework being assigned that week. It may be a lab, reading assignment, or hyperlink to a test in Blackboard. Blackboard is a course management tool that is used to submit assignments, post scores, and take online exams. Be sure to pay close attention to the reading assignments, because sometimes only a few pages may be assigned instead of an entire chapter.
  
  
• The Due Date column lists the date the homework assignment is due. Assignments are due by midnight of the date listed.
  
  
• The Points column specifies how many points each assignment or test is worth.
