GBS233 Course Grades

Your grade in GBS233 will be based on many factors. You will submit:

22 checkpoints at 5 points each (110 points) Your instructor has the option to give a 1-point bonus for a high-quality effort.

12 assignments at 30 points each (360 points)

11 true-false quizzes at 10 points each (110 points)

1 final exam (80 points)

Your total possible points for the course is 660 points.

Please notice that late submission of assignments is an automatic 50% deduction. (see course calendar for due dates), and the Checkpoints for a lesson cannot be submitted after the due date of that lesson's final Assignment.

Note: Since it is very important to your credibility as a business writer to use correct sentence structure and spelling, any assignment with a sentence fragment or a misspelled word will receive an automatic "D". This equates to a score of 20 on a 30-point assignment.

The final course grade will be based on the total number of points gained from all the items submitted. The scale is as follows:

A = 594 points or higher (90%)

B = 528 - 593 points (80%)

C = 462 - 527 points (70%)

D = 396 - 461 points (60%)

F = 395 points or lower

The grading scale is administered equally to all students in the course. Do not expect to receive a grade higher than that earned by your total points. There is no opportunity to get extra credit or other subjective factors.
