Consider the following collections of words. In their current arrangement, these words are virtually meaningless in their relation to one another. Using the rules of English syntax, can you rearrange them into a meaningful sentence? In some of these examples you may realize that there are several possibilities. Using the rules of syntax you should be able to arrange these strings of vocabulary into grammatically correct and meaningful sentences (even if you cannot describe precisely the rules of grammar that govern word order). Notice that this is possible even if you have never heard or thought of these sentences before; by understanding the basic vocabulary and the rules for combining these words you can create logical sentences. This ability is the essence of human productivity.
