Richard Felnagle is a native of California. He earned his BA in English at Pomona College in Claremont, California, in 1969, and he earned an MFA in directing from the drama program at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pensylvania, in 1972. He is married and has two daughters. He has more than twenty-five years of experience teaching on the college level. Before coming to Arizona in 1988, he taught at the South Campus of the Community College of Allegheny County in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. He has directed more than seventy plays on the college and community theatre level, and he has also written and performed in many other theatrical productions and a few locally produced television commercials. In 1992, the Boston/New England chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences nominated his original screenplay The Sales Call of the Future for an Emmy Award in the category "Outstanding Informational Program Special." The screenplay was written for GTE, and the film was broadcast on the Lifetime Network. His other interests include all phases of the movies and music.
