Jason Malloy - played trombone with the River City Brass Band in Pittsburgh, PA in 2002, and served on the faculty at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA. Raised in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Jason attended the University of Idaho for his undergraduate work where he studied trombone and euphonium with Alan Gemberling and (our own) Robert Spevacek, as well as composition with Daniel Bukvich. Several of Jason's compositions were performed at various recitals and concerts, including a commission for the University of Idaho Wind Ensemble which premiered in October of 1996. He then went to Arizona State University as a trombone teaching assistant, where he studied with Gail Eugene Wilson and Samuel Pilafian. In addition to earning his Masters of trombone performance degree, Jason spent two years teaching general music and as a middle/high school band director with the Gilbert Public School district. He is currently earning his Doctor of Musical Performance degree at Arizona State University, as well as playing principal trombone, composing and conducting with the Salt River Brass. |
