Paul Brewer

              Paul Brewer, a native of Phoenix, began his college education at Mesa Community College, then transferred to Northern Arizona University, were he earned his Bachelor of Music Education.  During his undergraduate, Mr. Brewer was the director of “The Show 2000” which was a big hit in Flagstaff.  This nominated him for the most prestigious award on NAU campus, the "Louie" Award. Throughout his education, he has studied under Grant Wolf, Fred Forney, Joel DiBartolo, Wilde Zumwalt, Mike Crotty, Mike Kocour, Russell Schmidt, and Patricia Hoy.  Mr. Brewer has had the opportunity to perform with such great musicians as Peter Erskine, Ed Shaughnessy, Wayne Bergeron, Al Martino, Wallace Roney, and John Abercrombie. Mr. Brewer has been the band director at Barry Goldwater and Paradise Valley High Schools.  He has recently earned his Master’s degree in Music Education with emphasis in Jazz Studies from Arizona State University. While earning his Master's degree, he was the Graduate Assistant for the Jazz Studies Department.  Paul Brewer is currently a freelance saxophonist, Artist in Residence at a few local schools, adjudicator of Marching, Concert and Jazz band festivals, President of the Arizona Association for Jazz Education, in addition to music faculty at Mesa and Scottsdale Community Colleges, and Marcos de Niza High School.
