Rob Hunter is the Director of Instrumental Music at Mesa Community College.  As director of college concert bands, jazz camp and high school honor bands; as clinician at educational conferences and festivals and for school and university music programs; as the Past-President for the International Association for Jazz Education – Arizona Unit: the Vice President for the Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors Association and a Music Education Coordinator for Ottawa University, Phoenix. Over the past four years, Rob has been working as an adjudicator and clinician for Music Festivals and Cruise Festivals International and is proud to be on staff with the Macy’s Great American Marching Band leading the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

For 9 years Mr. Hunter was the Director of the Phoenix Symphony Guild Symphonic Winds. In past years he has taught jazz band, jazz fundamentals, and jazz improvisation at Arizona State University. He served as Director of Bands and Fine Arts Department Chair at Paradise Valley High School from 1995 to 2001.  From 1995-2003, Rob was a manager and conductor for numerous European tours with the Ontario Youth Bands, Canadian Ambassadors and his school music programs.

Rob’s career spans classical, jazz and commercial music. As a trumpet performer he has shared the stage or opened for groups such as: Tears For Fears, The Fixx, Maroon 5, Phoenix Symphony, Boston Symphony, the Empire Brass, Atlantic Brass and the Canadian Brass.  Most recenlty he played for the Cardinals' playoff games.  Mr. Hunter recently completed course work for the Doctor of Musical Arts at Arizona State University. He has also earned a Master of Music degree from ASU, a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Ontario, Canada.
