  • Specialty is with working with victims of sexual abuse: working with perpetrators, substance abuse, foreign-born spouses and immigrants, multiculturalism.

  • Has written two books; Cultural Diversity in Sexual Abuse Treatment: Issues and Approaches and The Multiracial Child: What Parents and Professionals Need to Know.

  • Alvin got into social work because he connected with people and felt that he could make a difference and assist in enhancing the quality of their lives.
  • Making a difference in training new social workers and mentoring them.

  • As a clinician, providing quality services to the working poor in particular in an era of managed health care - a monster.

  • There will always be many jobs, the profession continues to grow. There are many rewards and much hope despite obstacles and the sad situations one encounters.
