  • Six years since first social work degree.

  • Child sexual abuse, domestic violence.

  • Child welfare, foster care, and adoption.
  • Seeing people succeed at the goals that they set for themselves and being able to help them see that they can be successful. Helping people find their place, and bringing all the pieces together.

  • Facing the societal obstacles to clients achieving their goals. For example, lack of affordable housing, cultural attitudes toward domestic violence and sexual abuse.

  • Elderly concerns and providing low-cost transitional housing for survivors of abuse. There's a great need to help with all that life throws at people …social workers make a difference.
