Elizabeth
BSW
Youth Placement Caseworker
Beginning: $23,000
  • Has worked for two years in an educational setting with students who are "at risk" and/or have special needs.

  • Elizabeth presents workshops to students at the junior high and high school levels, focusing on their communication and job skills to prepare them for the world of work.

  • In so doing, she works closely with other major entities such as the city government and the United Way.

  • Elizabeth is motivated by helping those in need, and making a difference in the lives of students.

  • She finds gratification in establishing rapport with students and seeing them achieve success in their search for meaningful purpose.

  • Elizabeth would like to see increased funding for more prevention programs, more social workers and counselors, and she would like to reform some school programs to more directly address students' challenges.

  • Elizabeth believes that social workers play a unique role in the remediation of problems of youth, and that more social workers are needed as advocates to improve resources to families.
