Geology of Southern Nevada
	Field Geology of the Southwest (GLG 230AA)

Class Syllabus

Your grade will be based on the following:

• Completion of Activities from the daily geologizing.
• Your attitude on the trip (which includes your willingness to ask questions and share your thoughts with other participants).
• Attendance of pre & post trip meetings (Pre-Trip meeting: Tuesday, February 5th, Post-trip meeting: TBD).

Expectations:

• A positive attitude (me from you and you from me).
• A group experience. I expect that you will contribute to the group by helping with loading/unloading of vehicles, setting up camp, cooking and setting up meals, participating in group activities, and staying with the rest of the participants.
• Weather. The weather can be very unpredictable. There is a always a possibility for precipitation (rain or snow depending on the temperature). Be prepared for a full range of temperatures (warm during the day, very cold at night). • Hiking. We will spend time hiking. These trails may be steep. You will be carrying a daypack with all of your gear, including lunch, as well as class equipment (nothing too heavy but whatever you carry in, you carry out).
• All meals will be provided (bag lunch, cooking around the stoves at night and morning), if you have any dietary restrictions, please notify me early.
